David Graff is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel, defense industry executive, and entrepreneur passionate about serving the national security interests of the United States. Dave began his career as an Air Force fighter pilot flying the F-15C. Dave rapidly progressed as a leader and a pilot and was selected to attend and then instruct at the prestigious US Air Force Weapons School. Dave continued his rapid ascent through the ranks, commanding a fighter squadron in Alaska and serving as the Military Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force. Dave finished his 21-year career after leading the largest F-22 Fighter Wing consisting of over 4,500 personnel and 64 aircraft as one of the youngest Colonels and Wing Commanders in the Air Force.
Following his Air Force career, Dave joined the St Joe Company in Florida to lead commercial expansion of a diverse set of assets including the development of the port of Port St Joe, the Apalachicola Northern short line railroad, and the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.
Dave left the St. Joe company to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions and protect schools from active shooter incidents. Working with local schools and law enforcement, Dave envisioned and designed a product called Code Black Alert to provide crowdsourced active shooter alerts and information sharing. The platform was also designed to provide law enforcement a real time, interactive incident response solution.
Dave was then recruited by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics to join their famous ‘Skunk Works’ group. As part of this group Dave led customer engagement, strategy development, legislative and technology alignment for the Air Force and Navy Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) programs and the F-22. His efforts secured a roadmap and customer alignment for current and future sustainment and modernization efforts valued at approximately $1B per year.
Dave is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering and holds two master’s degrees including a M.S. in National Security Strategy from the National War College, National Defense University, Washington D.C. Why I founded RADICL:
After a lifetime of serving our great country in both the military and private sector, I realized more must be done to protect innovation and intellectual property, our nation’s crown jewels, from falling into the hands of those who would bring harm upon us. I co-founded RADICL Defense to serve this mission.
